Number 1 in Customer Service

BMW of Santa Cruz Number One in Customer Satisfaction

We were recently honored by BMW Motorrad USA for being rated number one in customer satisfaction among all BMW dealers comparable to us in size. Only three such awards were given. Customer satisfaction has remained our priority since our company was founded in 1985. As a BMW dealer, we belong to the best group of dealers in the United States. In fact, J.D. Powers rated BMW Motorcycles number one for service in 2007 and stated: "BMW has set the industry benchmark for three out of the four components of the Service Experience". Knowing just how outstanding our fellow dealers are makes us even more proud of this special recognition and of our accomplishment.

New F650 GS coming soon
New F650GS

The US introduction of the long anticipated F800 GS has unfortunately been delayed until the fall of 2008 due to some previously unforeseen production issues. The good news however, is that BMW has decided to bring the all new F650 GS to our country after all and it will arrive here this summer. Those set on buying an F800 GS will have to wait but for some would-be F800 GS buyers, this may be a blessing in disguise. The F650 is slightly (8kg) lighter than the F800 GS and it's lower too, making it much easier to handle for some riders and especially those who don't intend to leave the pavement. The 2008 F650GS actually has the same 798cc engine as the F800GS but with a marginally lower power output and wider torque curve, making the bike very easy to ride in any gear.

Beyond engine output, the F650GS is primarily distinguished from its more powerful brother by:

  • lower (60mm) seat height
  • cast metal 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels
  • one less front brake disc (same dimensions)
  • conventional telescopic front forks with 180mm of travel
  • street-style fairings
  • lower windshield

Power specifications are:

  • 55.3 ft-lb of torque at 4,500 rpm
  • 71 horsepower at 7,000 rpm

Call our sales department or send an e-mail to bmwsales@bmwsantacruz.com to find out more and to be notified when this exciting new bike arrives in our showroom.

Blemished Bargains

We have recently added a new section to our on-line store. With the large volume of accessories that we sell, we naturally wind up with some slightly damaged or scratched parts that we can't sell as new at full price. It's easier and more efficient for us to let these parts go cheap, than it is to send them back to Germany. We are also re-doing our mobile displays and several of the parts that were on those displays will not be re-used on the new ones. Having been around the country numerous times however, these parts are no longer new, even though they have never been installed on a bike. There are other scenarios as well but the bottom line is, we have some very useable items in our "Blemished Bargains" section and maybe there's something there for you. Also check out our "Closeouts" section for other great deals.

Featured Accessory
Shock Splash Guard

The new "Shock Splash Guard" for the R1200 GS from Wunderlich has been receiving a great deal of positive feedback from GS riders world-wide. This is one of the best parts developed for the GS in recent years! It fits under the seat, in front of the shock and it effectively shields the shock and the back of your legs from water, mud and grime. It's made of thermoformed ABS plastic and is of OEM quality. You'll be impressed with the ease of installation. Follow this link to go directly to this part on our web site: Shock Splash Guard
