Winner of Motorcyclist magazine's best touring bike of 2000 award, the BMW R1100RT has been updated and made even better as the R1150RT for 2002. The RT is a fully faired motorcycle that provides you with excellent weather protection while maintaining a sporting edge.

Utilizing BMW's updated 1130cc boxer twin engine, the RT delivers 95bhp and 72 lbs of torque providing plenty of power even for fully loaded, two up riding. The Telelever front end gives excellent control, especially under braking and the new integral ABS will ensure that the rubber side stays down. In fact, the RT is such a solid performing machine that the California Highway Patrol uses it exclusively for all of it's two wheel patrols. Now the CHP can catch you in comfort.

In addition to the new motor and braking system (which weighs 10% less than the old one), the new RT also boasts a revised 6 speed transmission to ensure that there's a gear for every situation. The new gearbox makes highway riding more enjoyable and more fuel efficient. Other revisions include the inclusion of a radio kit, remotely adjustable headlamp, integrated fog lights, heated grips and 5 spoke wheels from the R1100S. The rear wheel is now a 17 incher to improve handling.

The R1150RT comes standard with BMWs lockable side cases and can also be outfitted with a topcase.
