Adding the GS moniker to the F 650 was a bold move. But the F 650 GS is a bold motorcycle. It has the versatility of classic BMWs -- bikes that could go anywhere and do anything. Well the F 650 GS is a paradox. It thrives in the dirt. And there’s no road that’s not a perfect fit. To see complete specs, click.
None of this should come as a surprise. After all, it evolved out of the F 650 RR -- winner of this year’s grueling Granada-Dakar Rally. And last year's.
The F 650 GS eats up miles and miles of roads -- forest-service roads, interstates, you name it. And the combination of a 4.0-gallon fuel tank and excellent gas mileage means you can go on a long adventure. And get back.
On a GS, the toughest decision may be: do I turn right or left?
It's already a champion.
The special edition F 650 GS Dakar commemorates the bike's impressive wins in the grueling Granada-Dakar Rally for two years in a row (1999 and 2000). This raceinspired model has serious technical modifications that set it apart from the "standard" F 650 GS. It's 21-inch front wheel provides better off-road handling and almost two inches more ground clearance. Both the front and rear suspension have increased travel. And the saddle is thicker for improved off-road comfort.
The new F 650 GS is an extremely versatile and capable motorcycle. It combines toughness and sophistication. Electronic engine management, switchable ABS,*strong spoked wheels...the list goes on.
The F 650 GS puts the "sport" back in dual-sport. To quote Motorcyclist: "The GS will lean a long way before the foot peg touches down, and if you keep the tach spinning, you can chuck the light ‘n’ low GS from canyon corner to corner just as fast as you’d like."
Don't let the road choose you.
