To maintain visibility in difficult weather, the Adventure can be equipped with accessory fog lights with protective grills, the ideal addition to standard headlights.

Engine protection guards.
The new engine protection guards ideally fit the robust look of the R 1150 GS Adventure. They naturally offer the best possible protection for the engine and neighboring components (such as the tank), especially since unintentional contact with the ground is sometimes unavoidable on off-road terrain. The engine guards are the ideal addition to the standard tough underride protection and the plastic engine cylinder protection.

Larger fuel tank.
A larger tank that holds 8.0 gallons allows you to drive farther without having to stop for gas. With an average consumption of 1.25 gallons/62 miles at a constant 78 mph, you can cover approximately 330 miles. The capacity was increased by extending the sides forward and increasing the width. The new shape still perfectly fits the lines of the Adventure so that only the driver will notice a difference from standard tanks.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT

A shorter transmission ratio for first gear is particularly suitable for difficult terrain or trips over small and narrow streets (such as hairpin turns) with a full load. This can be ordered as a first-time option for the R 1150 GS Adventure. Difficult stretches can be mastered reliably and easily.

No other manufacturer gives so much attention to rider safety as BMW. The R 1150 GS Adventure is therefore equipped with a switchable integral ABS braking system.

Multifunctional carrying system/Aluminum top and side cases.
People on the go with the world traveler R 1150 GS Adventure want to have sufficient storage space. For the Adventure, an adequate storage approach not only has to look good and offer enough space, but it has to be as robust and sturdy as the motorcycle itself. To meet these demands, aluminum side cases and a top case with a tailored multifunctional carrying system was developed for the R 1150 GS Adventure. Multifunctional? When the cases are removed, other objects can be easily strapped on and transported such as luggage, gas cans or small boxes.
ACCESSORIES

Heated hand grips.
You know how it is. You've been riding for hours and your hands are numb for the cold. Not anymore. Heated grips are just one of many standard features to be appointed on the new R 1150 GS Adventure.

Model Updates in the 2005 Model Year.
For the 2005 model year, the R 1150 GS Adventure will have an Anti-Theft Alarm as an available option.
