Rider Information Display and Info-Flatscreen

Flatscreen

In the K 1200 S, K 1200 R, R 1200 GS, R 1200 RT, R 1200 ST and K 1200 LT an instrument panel in digital technology is used: the Info-Flatscreen. This large-surface displays provides the rider with information on range, fuel tank content, oil temperature and the gear currently engaged, mileage, trip counter and time. In the case of models with the optional extra ESA, the Info-Flatscreen also informs the rider about the current suspension settings. As well as displaying all the relevant data in a clear and comprehensible way, the digital instrument panel is connected directly to the motorcycle electronic system and can thus draw the rider's attention to defects by means of warning messages. The entire instrument unit is automatically illuminated when darkness sets in. This comfort function is activated by a photo cell.

The Rider Information Display is an additional source of data for the rider of the R 1150 GS Adventure with optional extra. The display provides information on current engine oil temperature, fuel level, current gear and time. Oil temperature and fuel supply are each indicated by means of a variable column, which can be read easily while riding. The rider should visit the nearest filling station when the yellow warning light illuminates. The numeric display in the rectangular window indicates which gear is currently engaged. The digital clock is located below the fuel display.
